Welcome to the Pit.

In Spike Pit, winning is not just about scoring points. Every spike tears the court apart, every rally makes the arena more dangerous, and every misstep can send you falling into the pit. To win, you must outplay your opponent and survive the pit beneath your feet.

The idea came from playing Nintendo Switch Sports volleyball with my nephews and joking about what would happen if every spike actually destroyed the court. That joke stuck with me, and I decided to turn it into a playable prototype.

This is the first video game I have ever made. I do not come from a programming background, so I built this using Cursor to move fast and focus on testing the core idea rather than polishing everything. The goal was simply to find out if this concept is actually fun.

I would really appreciate it if you try the game and share your thoughts. Feedback, balance notes, bugs, or even quick gut reactions are all extremely welcome. This project is still very early, and your input will help shape what it becomes next.

Gameplay in a Nutshell

Destroy tiles on your opponent’s side to create holes in the court. Win by scoring through these gaps or by draining your opponent’s HP. Positioning, timing, and controlled chaos decide every rally. A full how to play guide is available inside the game.

Controls

• W A S D to move
• J to jump
• I to serve/upward toss (ground)
• I to spike (mid-air)

Most actions can be combined with directional keys for aiming.

If you give it a try, I would love to hear what you think. Even a short comment helps more than you might expect.

yo, fan of your youtube here.

super cool do see you making a videogame. some gamedevs i know watches your stuff and share your vids time to time. so this is like two worlds clashing.

and the mechanic of this game is very along the line with your boardgame/3D print work from your videos.

powerful fun from tangibility and simple spatial configuration.

it's sick that i can sense that in this game as well.

Hi there thank you so much for reaching out and telling me this! This project honestly opens up a new world for me, now I can maybe try some ideas that I cant translate into a boardgame/toys into a video game. If its okay, I hope we can stay in touch as I want to learn more about game dev

Best,
